Lontong



Lontong  is the other method of cooking rice in Indonesia. Lontong is made from cooking rice which more water and wrapped usually with banana leaves. Lontong can last up to two days if stored in the refrigerator. Lontong is usually presented with other special Indonesia food, Sate. Here is a way of making Lontong.



Seasoning and cooking ingredient:

1. 300 grams of rice
2. 400 ml of water
3. banana leaf or plastic bag

  
Hot to make:

  1. Wash and drain 300 grams rice and boiled it in 400ml water until  water half-cooked and all water is absorbed. And then lift it.
  2. Cut banana leaves into pieces, size 20 × 20cm.
  3. Put 4 tablespoons of half-cooked rice on a piece of banana leaf and roll tightly to form a tube,  then tie both ends of roll
  4. Boil again over medium heat for 90 minutes until rice is cooked. Drain and chill in refrigerator.
  5. If difficult to find banana leaves, lontong can be wrapped in plastic bags (perforated with a needle on its side).
